Terms & Conditions
Torvelo – Terms & Conditions of Service
Business Name: Torvelo Ltd t/a Torvelo
These Terms apply to all services provided by Torvelo (“we”, “us”, or “Torvelo”) to our customers (“you”). By booking or receiving services from us, you agree to these Terms.
1. Booking and Service
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. Quotes are based on the condition of the bike at drop-off and may change after inspection. We’ll contact you to approve any extra work before proceeding.
You may cancel or reschedule your booking up to 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations may be subject to a charge for time allocated or preparatory work undertaken.
We reserve the right to refuse service for any bike - including e-bikes - we believe to be unsafe, damaged, illegally modified, or a fire/electrical risk.
We do not work on e-bikes or scooters.
2. Payment
Payment is due on collection unless otherwise agreed in writing. If you’ve been pre-approved for 30-day terms, payment must be made within that period.
Late payments may incur interest at 2% per month, calculated daily, from the due date.
3. Defects or Issues with Work
We take pride in our work and aim to deliver a safe, high-quality service. If you believe there’s a problem with the service or a part we fitted, you must notify us within 7 days of collection and before any further work is carried out on the bike.
You must give us a fair opportunity to inspect and, if needed, repair or remedy the issue ourselves. We are not liable for any issues if:
The bike has been worked on by another mechanic or workshop after collection;
You have attempted repairs or adjustments yourself; or
We weren’t given a chance to inspect and address the issue first.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You’re responsible for providing accurate information about your bike, including known faults, prior damage, or modifications. You also accept that cycling involves inherent risks, and Torvelo is not responsible for accidents or injuries that result from mechanical issues outside of our control, or arising after you’ve collected the bike.
If we judge a bike to be unsafe and decline to carry out work, we accept no responsibility for what happens if you continue to use it.
5. Parts & Corkage Fee
New parts supplied by us may be covered by a manufacturer warranty. Used or customer-supplied parts are fitted at your risk and are not covered by any warranty from Torvelo. If you supply your own parts or accessories, we may apply a “corkage fee” of up to 20% of the labour charge if we could have supplied equivalent items. We will fit your parts with professional care, but we are not responsible for their quality, compatibility, or performance.
6. Storage & Collection
You must collect your bike within 7 days of being notified it’s ready. After that, we reserve the right to charge £10 per day for storage. Uncollected bikes may be sold or disposed of to recover costs, after reasonable attempts to contact you.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
Our total liability (including negligence) is limited to the cost of the service provided.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, enjoyment, inconvenience, or missed events.
We accept no liability responsibility for damage or faults caused by wear and tear, misuse, neglect, failure to follow maintenance advice, or acts beyond our control.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
Please read these Terms carefully. By booking a service or paying an invoice, you confirm your agreement to them.
